Land and Water Taxi Service
If you are flying into Fort Myers and need a land taxi, we recommend you take Pine Island Taxi.  They are very familiar with transporting guests to the water taxi from the airport.  Here is a link to their website to make reservations: Pine Island Taxi

They also will make a stop at Publix Grocery Store , near the island, for a free pickup of your grocery order.  They are the most reliable of any taxi company for pickup from the Fort Myers airport and getting you to the water taxi in a timely fashion. They will bring you directly to Pineland Marina where you’ll water taxi over with Island Girl Charters . Alternatively, Uber and other car services do operate in the Fort Myers/Cape Coral areas and can work well, but the drivers may not be as familiar with your final destination. If you are driving yourself, you’ll navigate to Pineland Marina .

Duncan and Laurie Rosen are our caretakers and live on North Captiva Island. They will assist with any questions you have regarding your water taxi reservations on Island Girl Charters.  Following is the link to make your water-taxi reservations to and from North Captiva Island: Island Girl Charters . As of February 2019 a roundtrip water taxi ticket with Island Girl is $48.00 per person, which includes 3 suitcases and a reasonable amount of groceries per person. If you bring an extraordinary amount of luggage they may charge you more.

Island Girl Charters is located at Pineland Marina on Pine Island, an island known for its huge palm farms.   If you are late for the scheduled water taxi, call Island Girl’s office at 239-633-8142 and they will coordinate a new schedule for you. Please note that Island Girl’s last water-taxi of the day leaves at 5pm sharp so please plan your arrival accordingly. Should you need to arrive later please reach out to Duncan and Laurie Rosen and they can try to make alternate plans for you to get over. Duncan and/or Laurie will greet you upon your arrival on North Captiva Island at the Barnacle Phil’s dock and will take you, your luggage and your groceries to Pocket Full Of Shells. Duncan and Laurie’s contact information is listed above.

The water-taxi ride takes 25 to 30 minutes to the island. Along the way, if the captain spots dolphins nearby he will sometimes safely turn the boat around and create a wake and usually the dolphins jump out of the water following the boat. Check out the Island Girl Gallery for photos.

Upon arriving on the island, the captain and first mate will unload all of your belongings and groceries. If you are pleased with their service, tipping is always appreciated. At the dock, Duncan and/or Laurie will be there to greet you and take your luggage and groceries to our home and introduce you to all of its features. Remember, Duncan and Laurie live on the island full time and if you have any questions or concerns, they are there to help you.
